Benefits
Let’s be honest about what the call actually says. It doesn’t list any perks, so here’s what this opportunity means in plain terms.
- You get a path from an A2 qualification to an undergraduate degree, without leaving the classroom
- A higher qualification can open doors for your career in teaching and education
- You study at the University of Rwanda, the country’s biggest public university
- You’re doing it with REB’s recommendation behind you
Check with UR-CE directly about anything like fees or study arrangements, since the announcement doesn’t cover those.
Eligibility Criteria
You can apply if you are:
- An A2 in-service teacher
- Recommended by the Rwanda Education Board (REB)
- Granted the opportunity to upgrade your level
If REB hasn’t recommended you, this call isn’t open to you.
Application Procedures
Step 1: Generate your UR reference number. Go to the University of Rwanda online application portal at https://applications.ur.ac.rw and generate your unique reference number.
Step 2: Pay the application fee. It’s 5,000 Frw and non-refundable. Pay through the Urubuto system and use your UR reference number as the Payer Code. Your options:
- Bank of Kigali (BK): at the counter or with the BK App (internet banking)
- MTN Mobile Money: dial 7755# and follow the instructions
- Online: urubutopay.rw/pay-now
- Merchant Code: TH77306981 (the UR code)
Do not pay through BK agents.
Step 3: Submit your application. Complete the application form you get from the UR-CE Registry office at Rukara Campus. Then submit it there with your certified academic documents.
Note: If you applied before but didn’t register, pay the fee using the reference number you were given earlier, then continue with the application process. And make sure your reference number is entered correctly when you pay, so the university can identify your payment and process your application through to submission.
