EACC MINISANTE Scholarships 2026/2027 | Nursing & Midwifery
MINISANTE Scholarships at East African Christian College (EACC) 2026/2027
Nursing and Midwifery, Tuition fully covered, Deadline: Friday, 11 September 2026 at 5:00 PM
East African Christian College (EACC) is calling for applications for funded undergraduate scholarships in Nursing and Midwifery. The scholarships are for the 2026/2027 academic intake, and they cover tuition fees only.
This one is offered by EACC together with the Rwanda Ministry of Health (MINISANTE), under the country's 4x4 health workforce strategy. So it's not just a study opportunity. There's a job side to it too, which we'll get to below.
One thing to know early: applying isn't the last step. Shortlisted candidates will sit for an admission test, and the final list of beneficiaries comes out of that.
What the scholarship covers
Selected candidates get:
- Tuition fees for the undergraduate Nursing or Midwifery program
- A place to study at East African Christian College
- A contract with the Ministry of Health for absorption into the health workforce after graduation
- The obligation to serve for a minimum period after graduation, as spelled out in that MOH contract
That last point matters. This isn't a no-strings-attached scholarship. You study, you graduate, and then you serve for the period the Ministry sets in the contract. For a lot of people that's the best part of the deal, since the job question is already answered before you even start. But read the contract carefully before signing anything.
Also worth repeating: tuition only. Accommodation, transport, food, and personal costs are not mentioned as covered, so plan for those yourself.
Who can apply
The requirements split depending on when you finished A-Level.
If you completed A-Level before 2024
You need:
- Two principal passes with at least Grade C in Biology and Chemistry
- No F in Mathematics, Physics or Geography
If you completed A-Level from 2024 onwards
You need:
- Two principal passes with at least Grade E in Biology and Chemistry
Accepted A-Level combinations
Whichever year you finished, your principal subject combination must be one of these:
- Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)
- Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology (MCB)
- Biology, Chemistry, Geography (BCG)
A2 Nurses
A2 Nurses can apply too, as long as you have:
- A minimum score of 70%
- At least two years of work experience
Available programs
Both are four-year undergraduate programs:
- Bachelor of Science in General Nursing with Honours.
- Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with Honours
Documents you'll need
Get these ready before you open the portal; it saves a lot of stress:
- S6 Certificate
- National ID or Passport
- A personal phone number that actually works
If you're applying as an A2 Nurse, add proof of the 70% minimum result and evidence of your two years of work experience.
Small tip. Scan your documents properly, clear and readable, and give the files simple names. Blurry phone photos taken at night are the easiest way to get thrown out of a process like this.
How to apply
- Open the EACC scholarship application portal using the link at the bottom of this page.
- Fill in your details and upload your documents.
- Submit before the deadline.
- Wait for the shortlisting results.
- If shortlisted, sit for the admission test on a date EACC will communicate.
Final selection is based on how you perform in the admission test and how many scholarship places are available. So even a strong application still comes down to that test. Start revising your Biology and Chemistry now rather than waiting for the invitation.
A note on the MOH contract
Because this scholarship comes through the Ministry of Health, successful beneficiaries sign a contract with MOH. The contract covers absorption into the health workforce after graduation and sets the minimum period you're expected to serve.
Read it. Ask questions if something isn't clear. Signing a document you didn't fully understand is a problem you carry for years.
Deadline: Friday, 11 September 2026 at 5:00 PM.
Applications close at that time. Late submissions won't be considered, and portals get slow in the final hours when everyone rushes at once. Apply early if you can.
