Protestant University of Rwanda Opens Applications for January 2027 Intake with Full Tuition Support.

The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) has partnered with Chancen International Rwanda to launch a new funded opportunity for the January 2027 intake, and it is one worth paying attention to if you are a Rwandan student looking to study without the burden of tuition fees upfront.

Under this arrangement, Chancen's Income Share Agreement (ISA) covers tuition costs during your studies. Instead of paying fees while in school, you begin repaying a portion of your income only after you graduate and start earning. It is a study now, pay later model designed to remove financial barriers at the point they matter most.

Programs open for application

Four undergraduate programs are included in this call:

Bachelor of Development Studies in Peace Building and Development
Bachelor of Arts in Natural Resources and Environmental Management
Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning and Management
Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Management

Who can apply

Eligibility is fairly specific. You need to be Rwandan, and being female counts as an advantage in this selection. Academically, applicants need a General Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with an average pass mark of 50 percent or higher. Students who completed Advanced Level before 2024 need at least two principal passes, while those who studied abroad will need a certificate of equivalence.

Documents required

Applicants should prepare a single PDF containing a notarized copy of their Advanced Certificate (or A2 Level results slip for 2026 completers), a copy of their National ID, and one colored passport photo.

How to apply

Applications go through www.pur.ac.rw, where the full document set is uploaded as one PDF. The deadline is October 25, 2026, so there is a real but tight window to get everything together.

What happens after admission

Students who are admitted through PUR and confirmed for the Chancen ISA will need to attend an ISA workshop with two guardians before classes start. This is a firm requirement, not optional paperwork, so factor it into your planning if you intend to apply.
