Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA), September 2026 Intake, Applications close 11 September 2026

Adventist University of Central Africa has announced 54 government-sponsored scholarships allocated by the Ministry of Health for the September 2026 intake.

The split is 36 places for the Bachelor of Midwifery and 18 for the Bachelor of Nursing.

Applications are already open. They opened on 27 August 2026 and close on 11 September 2026, so you're working with a short window here. If you qualify, don't sit on this one.

Eligibility and selection

To be considered, you need to meet three things at once:

AUCA's general admission requirements
The specific requirements of the programme you're applying for
The Higher Education Council (HEC) requirements for undergraduate admission

Eligible applicants then go into the selection process, which includes an entrance examination. Scholarships go to candidates who make it through that process successfully.

So applying does not equal getting the scholarship. The exam decides it.

Detailed requirements

The requirements change depending on when you completed your studies. Find your category below.

Before 2008

A2 Nursing with a valid NCNM license and the required C+ grades

Before 2024

Two Principal Passes, with a C in Biology and Chemistry, and a D in Mathematics or Physics

From 2024 onwards

Required combinations:

PCB, MCB, BCG, or the Associate Nurse Programme
Required pathway: STEM Pathway

And the candidate must have one of the following:

A high school certificate with 60% (E)
2PP with at least 60% (E) in Biology and 60% (E) in Chemistry
A high school certificate in the Associate Nurse Programme with 2PP (Fundamentals of Nursing and Clinical Placement) with at least 60% (E)

Note: Adequate English proficiency is required across the board.

That gap between the deadline and the exam is small. Roughly three days. Don't plan to start revising after you submit, because there won't be time. Open your Biology and Chemistry notes this week.

How to apply

There's no separate scholarship form for this one. You apply through AUCA's normal admission process.

Complete the official AUCA admission application for the September 2026 intake.
Select the relevant programme, either Nursing or Midwifery.
Submit before 11 September 2026.
Sit the entrance examination during the week of 14 to 18 September 2026.

Make sure you actually select Nursing or Midwifery. Applying to AUCA generally, without picking one of these two programmes, leaves you outside the scholarship pool.

A few honest notes before you apply

Read the sponsorship terms. Ministry of Health sponsorship usually comes with obligations after graduation. Ask admissions directly what those terms are for this intake so nothing surprises you later.

Check your category carefully. The requirements for someone who finished before 2024 are genuinely different from someone who finished after. People get rejected for applying under the wrong bracket.

Prepare your documents now. Certificates, ID, transcripts, and for A2 Nursing applicants, that valid NCNM license. Scan them properly. Clear, readable, sensible file names.

Apply early. Portals slow down in the last two days when everyone rushes at once.
