1. IB Middle Years Programme German Teacher
- Location: Bugesera, Eastern Province, Rwanda
- Duration: Open-ended
- Working hours: 45 per week
- Department: Pedagogy
- Reports to: Middle School Principal and Deputy Head Overall, or a designee
You may occasionally be asked to work beyond normal hours to keep things running smoothly, and you will be compensated with rest days equal to the extra hours worked.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Instructional design, including unit plans, task design, and learning resources that activate thinking and help students personalise their learning.
- Instructional delivery, including seminars built around cooperative, inquiry-based and project-based learning.
- Classroom management.
- Keeping accurate attendance records.
- Giving students constructive support, including scaffolds that aid their learning.
- Facilitating Studio Time, the self-directed learning phases, through active monitoring and subject-specific and metacognitive support.
- Assessing student work, both formative and summative.
- Reporting on student learning, writing periodic term reports, and keeping regular communication with learners, mentors and parents.
- Serving as a mentor for up to ten students each year.
- Any other duties relevant to effective teaching and learning as assigned by the Head of School or the middle school principal.
Your profile
- Teacher certification and/or teaching experience, preferably in the IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme, specifically in the German language.
- Bachelor's Degree is the minimum. A Master's Degree is desirable.

2. IB Middle Years Programme English Language and Literature Teacher

Classes are small, around 20 students, which makes differentiated teaching possible. Alongside teaching, you will mentor students and help them learn to manage their own learning.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Instructional design, including unit plans, tasks and varied learning resources.
- Instructional delivery through seminars, using cooperative, inquiry-based and project-based learning.
- Classroom management.
- Keeping accurate attendance records.
- Providing constructive support and scaffolds for students.

3. School Secretary
- Location: Bugesera, Eastern Province, Rwanda, with occasional travel around the East African region
- Duration: Open-ended
- Working hours: 45 per week
- Reports to: Lead School Secretary or a designee
The school is looking for someone reliable and efficient to support the administration, staff, students and parents. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and inquiries.
Main responsibilities
- Welcome visitors, parents and students professionally and direct them to the right person or resource.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries and pass on messages promptly and politely.
- Maintain the main office, including incoming and outgoing mail, filing systems and office supplies.
- Assist with school reporting.
- Prepare and distribute newsletters, bulletins and announcements to parents, staff and students.
- Help organise and run school activities such as parent-teacher conferences, orientations and special events.
- Work with teachers, administrators and other staff to support smooth school operations.
- Keep sensitive information confidential and follow data protection rules when handling student and personnel records.
- Handle general clerical work: typing, photocopying, scanning and filing.
- Support school leadership and staff with special projects, research and data entry.
- Uphold and promote the school's mission, values and policies in all interactions.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or an equivalent qualification is required. Additional certification in office administration or secretarial studies is preferred, along with 5 years of practical work experience.
- Proven experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in a school setting.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database management software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal professionally with different kinds of people.
- Well organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise and manage time well.
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Flexible, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer service mindset, positive attitude, and willingness to help.
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda is required. Other languages are an advantage.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and experience with financial record-keeping is desirable.

4. Technical Production Assistant, Media and Sound Systems
- Location: Bugesera, Eastern Province, Rwanda

- Department: Administration and Finance
- Reports to: IT Coordinator or a designee
This role covers all media and sound systems used at school events, assemblies, performances and daily operations.
Key responsibilities
Audio and sound management
- Set up, operate and troubleshoot microphones, speakers, soundboards, mixers and amplifiers.
- Manage live sound mixing for school events, performances and assemblies.
- Make sure sound quality is good in all venues and keep equipment in working condition.
- Test, maintain and calibrate sound systems regularly.
Visual and media production
- Manage screens, digital signage, smartboards and video display systems.
- Manage lighting during events.
- Assist with digital media preparation.
Event support
- Handle technical setup and operation for assemblies, meetings, events and performances.
- Work with event organisers to understand technical needs and deliver a smooth event.
- Plan and test AV setups before major events.
Equipment management
- Keep an updated inventory of all media and sound equipment.
- Ensure regular maintenance and timely repairs.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents, and document common fixes.
- Advise on new equipment purchases and upgrades.
Training and support
- Guide staff and students on the proper use of AV and sound systems.
- Develop simple manuals or checklists for routine use of media equipment.
Your profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Media Production, ICT or a related field.
- Proven experience in sound engineering, AV setup or live production.
- Strong technical knowledge of media and sound equipment.
- Strong electronic troubleshooting skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.

- Able to work with minimum supervision, and flexible.
