What the Role Covers

The Technical Advisor will work across several interconnected digital workstreams, including:

  1. Institutional strengthening of Smart Africa
  2. Cooperation with the private sector

  • Design and lead continental digital economy initiatives from concept through implementation

  • Translate regional policy ambition into actionable plans and measurable outcomes

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in digital economy initiatives, including African regional contexts

  • Experience in portfolio management, key account management, or strategic coordination
  • Deep knowledge in one or more of: digital economy, digital sovereignty, AI, DPI/DPG, cross-border data governance, or digital finance
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as the AU Digital Transformation Strategy, AfCFTA Digital Protocol, and the Global Digital Compact
