Starting university is exciting, and sorting out where you’ll live is a big part of it. The University of Rwanda (UR) has just announced the hostel accommodation application period for the 2026/2027 academic year, and the window is short. Here’s everything you need to know so you don’t miss out.

Key Dates

Applications open on Wednesday, 4 November 2026 and close on Saturday, 7 November 2026. That gives you four days to apply, so it’s best not to wait until the last minute.

Who Can Apply?

The announcement is addressed to all Year One students across the University of Rwanda campuses. If you’re joining UR this academic year and you’d like a hostel place, this one’s for you.

How to Apply

The whole process happens online. Go to https://hostel.ur.ac.rw and complete the application form. No queues, no paperwork, just a few minutes on your phone or computer.
