The Rwanda National Police Human Resources Directorate has just released an official call for applications to its Advanced School, based in Musanze District, Northern Province. Application Window

Online applications open on September 17, 2026, and close on September 26, 2026. Everything is done digitally through the E-Recruitment portal, so there's no need to travel anywhere just to submit your file.

Who Can Apply

Before you get your hopes up, run through this checklist. To be considered, you must:

• Be a Rwandan citizen
• Be between 18 and 23 years old
• Have passed your A-Level national examinations with good results
• Have no criminal conviction involving imprisonment of more than six months
• Have a clean record in terms of conduct and behavior
• Have never been dismissed from public service
• Be in good health
• Not be idle or without an occupation

If any one of these doesn't apply to you, it's worth holding off and trying a future intake instead of risking disqualification partway through the process.

Choosing Your Department

The Advanced School runs several departments, and each one expects you to have studied specific subject combinations in secondary school, plus hit certain minimum grades.

Here's how it breaks down:

1. Law Department

Accepted combinations: MEG, HGL, LEG, HEL

You need at least 50% in each of your two best-performing subjects, and an overall average of at least 60%.

2. Technology Department

Accepted combinations: MPC, MCE, MPG, PCM

Same structure here too at least 50% in your top two subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science carry the most weight), with an overall average of at least 50%.

3. Languages Department

Accepted combinations: EKK, FEK, EFK, LEG, HGL, HEL

At least 50% in each of your two strongest subjects, and an overall average of 60%.

4. Professional Police Courses Department

Accepted combinations: PCB, BCG, MCB, MPG, PCM, HEG, HGL, HEL, LEG, MEG, TTC

At least 50% in your two best subjects, and an overall average of 60%. One important exception: if your background is in Education (TTC), your overall average needs to be at least 65%.

Take a moment to check where your own combination fits before you apply. Applying to a department that doesn't match your academic background is one of the most common (and avoidable) mistakes candidates make.
