Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at ALCHE, Mauritius: February 2027 Intake
Applications are now open for the February 2027 intake of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the African Leadership College of Higher Education (ALCHE). This fully funded scholarship is for young Africans who show academic potential, leadership qualities, financial need, and a real commitment to positive change in their communities and across the continent.
The program is a partnership between ALCHE and the Mastercard Foundation. ALCHE builds young people through academics, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and practical skills, while the Mastercard Foundation gives talented Africans access to higher education and the chance to grow into future leaders.
What the Scholarship Covers
Selected scholars receive a full scholarship that includes:
• Full tuition for the entire undergraduate program
• Free on-campus accommodation
• Daily meals
• Travel to and from campus
• Leadership and entrepreneurship training
• Mentorship and career development support
• Access to a global network of changemakers and innovators
Who Can Apply (ELIGIBILTY CREATERIA)
You should:
• Be a citizen of an African country
• Have strong academic performance and leadership potential
• Show commitment to community service and positive change in Africa
• Demonstrate financial need and require full scholarship support
• Meet the admission requirements for an undergraduate program at ALCHE
Age Requirement
Applicants must be at least 17 years old when their studies begin. The age is counted from the start of studies, not the date of application.
Applicants who are 17 at the start of their studies may be invited to an interview to assess their readiness for university. Those who are 17 but will turn 18 during their first year do not need this interview.

Documents You Need
Prepare these before you start:
• Completed online application form
• National examination transcripts
• Secondary school transcripts and certificates
• Valid passport or national ID
• Proof of English proficiency
• Personal statement or essay on your leadership experience, community involvement, and future goals
• Academic or community-based recommendation letters
• Any additional transcripts, diplomas, certificates, achievements, or recommendation letters
If you do not have an international English test such as IELTS or TOEFL, you may be allowed to submit results from a national English examination instead. If you need help preparing for an English test, IELTS and Duolingo English.
